Comic Book Review! Mind the Gap, Vol. 1

Elle Peterssen is the victim of a brutal attack at a subway station and is now within a coma.  As her family and friends gather around her body in the hospital, Elle watches from another plane of existence.  Trapped between life and death, Elle struggles to remember the events that led her to the hospital and bridge the gap within her memories of the people who visit her.  But Elle soon discovers she is not alone in the other plane.  As she adapts to this other world, she is surrounded by many more spirits who are also trapped.  This is when she discovers that she is somehow different than the rest and can somehow possess the bodies of those who have moved on, if only for a short time.

The past month or two I have been extremely busy with multiple art projects and have become absurdly behind on my reading. Thankfully, I was still able to access the free copy of this graphic novel, and I have to say, I am disappointed I didn’t read it the day I downloaded it.  This book is filled with beautiful artwork, panels and pages that are truly amazing with a storyline that is compelling.  It is no wonder that the writer, Jim McCann, won an Eisner Award for his previous work and I will definitely have to start catching up.

If you haven’t read this yet, I highly recommend you run out to the store and buy it today.  Believe me, you will not be disappointed!
