When it has been awhile since I've painted, or when I need to de-stress after a particularly long day, I like to watch other people paint. This helps me find my center and also affords me the opportunity to learn something new. Since I do not have a studio of fellow painters to turn to in times of need, I instead turn to YouTube and the glorious time lapse videos by other artists. Today was no exception as my other alternate de-stress ventures had proven fruitless and I stumbled upon a wonderful video by illustrator Wylie Beckert. Her technique is a bit different from mine and one that I may try out some day. For now, I will leave you with the links to her video, website, and some books I found on Amazon that prove useful to you!
The written process complete with pictures can be found here.
And here are some books that you may find useful or just plain fun!
